Profile: Gaye LeFebvre, Senior Business Coach
Over the past 4 years, Gaye has worked with over 150 salon owners independent contractors and new salon owners. In Gaye's 30– year career in the salon industry she had seen too many salons that were adrift in a sea of poor management skills and lacking of the knowledge that she could provide both the oars and the coaching to help these salons regain their momentum. She has trained with dynamic people such as Michael Cole and Debbie Miller and has written 12 week programs for Business Coaching and The Next Generation, the practical guide for a stylist working behind the chair.
Gaye is the founder of Salon Consortium, a business-coaching firm based in Utah and had developed a program that today has revived many struggling salons. Her coaching program has reached salons coast to coast and has been instrumental in her original quest of "saving salons". Now working as an independent contractor, she is able to offer her program at huge discounts going directly to the public.
Her work has been featured in Modern Salon, Salon Today and California Stylist.
Prior to founding Salon Consortium, Gaye gained years of experience in the professional cosmetic industry as both consultant and national color educator. Gaye's previous associations include A & D Beauty Supply and Italy Hair Fashions. Her experience includes human resources, operational management, sales and customer service, inventory management, buying and marketing direction.
Who better to navigate salon owners through troubled and choppy waters than someone who understands from a first-hand experience the potential pitfalls of operation a business without a business plan? 10 years ago Gaye opened her first salon with no employees and no customers. Within three years she expanded to two salons, 35 employees and $750,000 in total sales, (with an extraordinarily high ratio of 30 percent of this figure coming from retail sales). Operating and managing two of the largest salons in the state was not simple task. With the realization dawning that salon business advice wasn't readily available, Gaye conducted years of research on her own through expensive traveling to compile the data to create systems to manage rapid growth while maintaining and furthering her salon's corporate vision.
Following the divestment of her businesses, Gaye was ready for a new challenge: to take what she had painstakingly learned and create an innovative 12 week program to help others gain the same knowledge. Gaye provides sound business advisory services to salon owners seeking expanded growth through strategies through one-on-one coaching, which is individually tailored. By providing training in business management, personal management, recruiting systems, assistant training retail and marketing strategies, Gaye is truly saving salons across the country.
Gaye is living her dream of residing in the mountains of Utah with her husband Randy. Her two sons are grown and living on their own.
